Excel VBA Developer/Analyst

Job description

Balance Partners, LLC , a dynamic, privately held Managing General Underwriter is seeking an enthusiastic team player to join our expanding data/reporting team.

This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, pricing tools and data visualizations using SQL, Excel, and other data tools.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance industry. The candidate will work with the underwriting and actuarial teams to create the required tools. Meticulous attention to detail is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Tool Development: Support and extend a wide variety of internal and external tools.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, generate reports, prepare data visualizations, and use data to assist in the forecasting or guiding business activity.

  • Collect, audit, compile, and validate data from multiple sources.

  • Collaborate with colleagues for the purpose of collecting and structuring data

  • Develop a full working knowledge of the current and future lines of business we underwrite/service

  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills

  • Expert Level Excel Knowledge Required (Formulas, Macros, Indexes)

  • Experience using VBA

  • Programming experience using SQL preferred.

  • Strong technical skills including managing large data sets and Excel.

  • Experience with automation and process improvement is a plus.

  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to work independently and balance daily operations and projects.

Salary commensurate with experience

This is a full time, Monday-Friday remote opportunity with comprehensive benefit eligibility.
