Balance Partners, LLC is a dynamic and growing privately held Managing General Underwriter (MGU). We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations & Integration Specialist to join our team.
This role is designed for a versatile insurance operations professional with strong ability to manage and oversee a variety of projects, deep understanding of policy administration systems, workflow optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. You will oversee the integration of acquisitions and programs, lead operational enhancements, manage system implementations and partner with internal teams and external vendors to support Balance Partners’ long-term growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead end-to-end operational integration of newly acquired MGAs/MGUs, programs and teams into Balance Partners’ systems, processes, and workflows.
· Conduct discovery sessions to understand existing processes, identify gaps, and build integration plans outlining scope, timelines, resource needs and milestones.
· Oversee system onboarding, workflow alignment, data migration, compliance functions, carrier requirements and staff training
· Ensure seamless onboarding of underwriting, operations, accounting, and compliance tasks for new programs.
· Maintain consistency in operational standards across multiple lines of business, while supporting program-specific needs.
· Serve as project lead and collaborate closely with IT for system implementation or enhancement projects; including API integrations, automation initiative and workflow tools.
· Coordinate vendor projects, establish requirements, monitor timelines and ensure quality deliverables.
· Develop comprehensive project plans for all initiative, including acquisitional integrations, system development, operational enhancements, and program launches.
· Lead cross-functional meetings with underwriting, operations, compliance, finance, IT and executive leadership.
· Maintain details project documentation, status reports, meeting notes and risk/issue logs.
· Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders at all organizational levers.
· Effectively delegate tasks and manage resources.
Desired Qualifications:
· Extensive experience in insurance operations, compliance, underwriting support, or insurance program administration.
· Proficiency in workflow mapping, business process redesign, and operational system implementation.
· Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously across operations, IT, and program teams.
· Experience partnering with vendors in evaluating and implementing AI or automation initiatives that improve processes, reduce manual work, and support business scalability.
· Ability to manage timelines and lead delivery of technical and operational deliverables.
· Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to leadership, program managers, carrier partners and technical teams.
· Strong ability to solve problems and recommend practical solutions.
· Collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills.
· Prior MGA/MGU experience preferred.
